What is Grass?

How Does Grass Work?

Grass operates using two main components: Grass Nodes and the Sovereign Data Rollup.

Grass Nodes: Users can install Grass with just a few clicks, turning their devices into Grass Nodes that contribute unused internet bandwidth to the network. In return, they earn rewards in the form of network ownership. These nodes provide businesses with access to the bandwidth they need to perform tasks like checking local website content or gathering region-specific information, all without compromising the privacy of users. With each contribution, users not only earn rewards but also gain a stake in the overall Grass network, giving them a voice in how the network evolves.

Sovereign Data Rollup: This infrastructure is responsible for facilitating the data sourcing and transformation process. It consists of nodes, routers, validators, a Zero-Knowledge (ZK) processor, and a Data Ledger, which work together to transform unstructured web data into structured datasets. These datasets are sold to AI labs and research institutions to aid in the training of AI models, thus creating additional value for the bandwidth contributed by users. The Sovereign Data Rollup serves as the backbone of Grass, ensuring that data collection is secure, structured, and effectively used to benefit both users and the broader internet ecosystem.

Grass Founding Team

Grass was co-founded by Andrej Radonjic and Chris Nguyen, both of whom have extensive experience in technology and network-related projects.

Andrej Radonjic: Andrej serves as the co-founder of both Grass and Wynd Network. He holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from McMaster University. Andrej’s vision for Grass revolves around leveraging decentralized networks to return value to individual internet users and empower them to benefit from their own resources.

Chris Nguyen: Chris Nguyen is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Grass. As CTO, Chris is focused on ensuring that the Grass infrastructure meets the highest standards of security, scalability, and functionality, enabling users to safely share their internet bandwidth and earn rewards without compromising their privacy or network performance.

Together, Andrej and Chris have built Grass to challenge the current norms of internet usage and ownership. Their mission is to transform how users think about their internet resources by creating a platform that rewards individuals while enhancing online services for businesses and research institutions.
