Samsung Biologics targets peptides with $1.8 billion cash deal for PolyPeptide Group
Samsung Biologics plans to acquire Spain-based peptide CDMO PolyPeptide Group for $1.8 billion in cash to enter the fast-growing peptide-drug segment. Separately, Argenx agreed to buy Forte Biosciences in a $2.2 billion deal. In Europe, Catalyxx will receive €22 million in EU support to build a bio-alcohol plant in Portugal, while Eurodia Industrie said revenue rose from $39 million in 2023 to $91 million in 2025 on demand tied to industrial decarbonization. The developments are closely watched for what they could signal about growth prospects in the biopharmaceutical arm of Samsung Biologics’ parent, Samsung Electronics.
