Lombard Finance is a Bitcoin infrastructure protocol that transforms Bitcoin from a passive store of value into an active DeFi asset through liquid staking. The platform's flagship product, LBTC, is a liquid, yield-bearing, cross-chain token backed 1:1 by BTC that enables Bitcoin holders to earn yield while retaining ownership and cross-chain liquidity.

When Was Lombard Finance (BARD) Launched?
Founded in 2024, Lombard pioneered Bitcoin's integration into DeFi with LBTC, the leading yield-bearing Bitcoin asset secured by a consortium of 14 top digital asset institutions. The BARD token had its Token Generation Event (TGE) on September 18, 2024.
LBTC reached $1 billion TVL in just 92 days and became the first Bitcoin LST trusted by blue-chip protocols including Aave, Spark, and EigenLayer. Prior to the token launch, Lombard previously raised $17 million in seed funding led by Polychain Capital, with participation from Franklin Templeton, YZi Labs (previously Binance Labs), Nomad Capital and other leading institutions.
