On March 5, 2026, trader Maji (Huang Licheng) rolled over and increased his Ethereum long to roughly $14.4 million, lifting the average entry from $2,023 to $2,066 and placing liquidation at $2,035. The position showed about $350,000 in unrealized profit (around a 60% return) and included a take-profit range of $2,130 to $2,202 to close 10% partially.

Circle has unveiled cirBTC, a wrapped bitcoin token backed 1:1 by native BTC and aimed at giving institutions verifiable onchain bitcoin exposure across DeFi and TradFi. The company says reserves will be independently checkable onchain in real time, and cirBTC is set to debut on Ethereum and Arc, with multichain support planned. The product is listed as “coming soon” with availability subject to regulatory approvals.

Circle said on April 2, 2026 it will launch Circle Wrapped Bitcoin (cirBTC), a tokenized BTC product aimed at institutional users. The company says each cirBTC will be backed 1:1 by native BTC, with reserves independently verifiable onchain in real time. The initial release is planned for Ethereum and Arc, with crosschain mobility positioned as a core feature.

By April 2, BlackRock held about $53.22 billion in Bitcoin, or roughly 782,290 BTC, up from 760,850 BTC valued at $51.26 billion on February 28. Over the same period, its Ethereum position fell from 3.15 million ETH ($6.37 billion) to 3.02 million ETH (around $6.35 billion), even as ETH's price increased. Across its crypto portfolio, total value rose by about $1.94 billion to $59.57 billion, with Bitcoin at 89% and Ethereum at 11%.

Cardano is currently the 13th-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, with Monero (XMR) ranked 14th and still about $2.5 billion short of taking the No. 13 spot. Cardano's market cap stands at $8.53 billion versus Monero's $6 billion, while prices were listed at $0.236 for ADA (down 4.46% in 24 hours) and $326 for XMR (down 3.26% in 24 hours).

CryptoQuant analysts say Binance traders have been buying Ethereum as the exchange’s ETH reserve fell to 3.3 million ETH, below prior lows. The firm also noted stablecoin balances rising, with USDT at $38 billion and USDC at $6.6 billion on April 2, a mix some interpret as supportive for a potential rebound. ETH was trading at $2,030, down 4.9% in 24 hours, while volume slipped 4.2% to $20.2 billion.

Ethereum recorded a new quarterly high of 200.4 million transactions in Q1 2026, up about 43% versus the prior quarter. Daily activity peaked at 2.897 million transactions on February 7, 2026, then eased to about 2.363 million by April 2. The quarter's rise coincided with 12.6 million active addresses between January 1 and March 31 and an Ethereum stablecoin market cap near $164.4 billion.

Ethereum (ETH) traded near $2,043.41 after falling -4.16% over the past 24 hours, while the $2,040–$2,130 area was framed as a key support zone. The market outline maps a bearish path toward $1,800–$1,900 if $2,000 breaks, versus a bullish recovery scenario that points to $2,500 if support holds.

Bitcoin and ether ETFs posted a second consecutive session of net inflows, with bitcoin funds taking in $117.63 million and ether funds adding $31.17 million. Bitcoin ETF trading volume reached $3.11 billion with net assets at $87.46 billion, while ether ETF volume hit $1.03 billion and net assets rose to $11.98 billion. In contrast, XRP and solana ETFs saw no trading activity, ending with net assets of $943.73 million and $805.84 million, respectively.

Ethereum traded above $2,100 at the start of the new month as one analyst framed its next major move around a single invalidation level. The analyst said holding $1,382 keeps an Elliott Wave “Wave 2” setup intact with an upside target as high as $8,400, while a break could open the door to a drop below $900 with chart projections between $800 and $500.
