Hacked WeChat Account Tied to Binance’s Yi He Fuels MUBARA Memecoin Spike on BNB Chain, Netting Attacker $55,000
On 9 December, a dormant WeChat account linked to Binance co-CEO Yi He was taken over and used to promote the little-known MUBARA token on BNB Chain. The token’s price jumped from about $0.001 to $0.008, briefly valuing the project near $8 million before plunging more than 60% as two attacker wallets sold into the rally, securing an estimated $55,000 profit, according to on-chain data. The episode shows how abandoned web2 accounts can still trigger sharp moves in thinly traded micro-cap crypto markets when they are associated with high-profile industry figures.
