An Ethereum whale deposited $2.18 million into Hyperliquid to open a 10x leveraged ETH short after the altcoin slipped below $2,000 and briefly hit $1,956, Onchain Lens reports. Coinglass data show long liquidations in futures exceeded $56 million, while Ethereum's long/short ratio dropped to 0.96, indicating increased bearish positioning. Separately, a dormant whale staked 8,208 ETH worth $16.85 million via Kiln_finance after re-emerging following a year-long absence, holding unrealized profits of about $768,000 on assets originally accumulated for $16.09 million over four years. Technical indicators cited in the report suggested weak positive momentum and a prevailing bearish bias, while the Future Grand Trend indicator pointed to a possible rebound toward $2,186 before a potential move down to around $1,800.
