Tether Invests in Axiym to Integrate USDT into Global Payment Systems
Tether made a strategic investment in fintech firm Axiym on March 5 to advance USDT integration in global payment and settlement systems, ChainThink reports. Axiym is developing a distributed funds infrastructure that embeds financial services into compliant payment ecosystems and supports a "Pay Now, Settle Later" framework with native USDT integration, enabling payment companies to deploy USDT directly in existing systems without additional settlement rails. The company's network covers 140 countries and 70 currencies, providing real-time settlement between payment processors and aggregators. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the investment will expand real-world USDT use cases and support a more efficient global payment system, while Axiym founder Khibar Rassul stated direct USDT integration into regulated infrastructure can shift stablecoins from assets to core payment capabilities.
