Reuters: Iran's Nobitex Tied to at Least $2.3B in Crypto Transfers Since 2023

Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Nobitex, has moved at least $2.3 billion since 2023 using the Tron network and BNB Smart Chain, Reuters reported. Some of the flows are linked to parties under U.S. sanctions, including the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hamas, and Hezbollah. Blockchain analytics firms Arkham and Elliptic estimate more than $2 billion in transfers on Tron and about $317 million on BNB Smart Chain. They also report that tens of millions of dollars have continued to move since the outbreak of hostilities.
