Bitcoin held in OTC-linked wallets sinks to record low, more than 75% below 2021 peak
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Known OTC desk address reserves have fallen to a record low (~123k BTC vs ~500k in 2021), implying reduced off-exchange sell-side inventory. The decline may reflect stronger long-term holding behavior, broader distribution, and fewer miner/holder sales routed through OTC channels. With less BTC available outside public venues, liquidity could tighten and incremental demand may be forced onto exchanges, supporting near-term market tone.

Bitcoin reserves tracked to known over-the-counter (OTC) platform addresses have fallen to a new record low, according to Huoxing Finance, citing crypto analyst Darkfost. The holdings now stand at about 123,000 BTC, down from nearly 500,000 BTC in September 2021.
The prolonged drawdown is attributed to several possible shifts in market behavior: investors increasingly opting to hold BTC for the long term, a broader and more decentralized distribution of Bitcoin ownership, and sellers such as miners relying less on OTC channels. Some holders may also be choosing to sell directly on public exchanges.
Whatever the mix of drivers, the steep decline suggests a smaller pool of BTC available for sale outside public markets. If buyers increasingly route demand through exchanges, the tighter off-exchange supply could offer support to BTC prices.
