Charles Schwab plans to add SOL, AVAX and LINK to Schwab Crypto, expanding beyond BTC and ETH and giving three major tokens access to a large traditional client base (39.1M accounts; $11.77T assets). Charles Schwab plans to add Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) to Schwab Crypto in the coming months, extending its spot crypto lineup beyond Bitcoin and Ether. The brokerage said the expansion reflects client demand for well-established cryptocurrencies and will let customers access three major digital assets directly through their existing Schwab accounts. Schwab launched spot crypto trading for retail clients in May 2026, initially offering only Bitcoin and Ether. Trading in SOL, AVAX and LINK will carry a 0.75% fee. Charles Schwab Premier Bank will custody the assets, while Paxos will provide execution infrastructure. Schwab did not provide a specific rollout date, saying availability will be phased in over the coming months. As of June 30, 2026, Schwab reported 39.1 million brokerage accounts and $11.77 trillion in total client assets. The firm said broader access through a traditional brokerage platform could increase liquidity and visibility for the newly listed tokens. Markets reacted quickly to the news. SOL jumped more than 11.6% over 24 hours to about $107, LINK rose more than 6.3% to roughly $11.90, and AVAX gained over 4% to trade near $7.50. Schwab has previously highlighted Solana as one of the largest smart contract platforms and noted earlier this year that the network had nearly $31 billion in total value locked across its ecosystem as of March 2026. Access remains restricted geographically. Schwab Crypto is available across the United States except New York and Louisiana, and the service is not offered internationally. The company also reiterated that crypto assets are highly volatile and investors may lose their entire investment. Schwab has taken a measured approach to digital assets, but the latest additions underscore growing acceptance of crypto within mainstream brokerage channels. The firm continues to publish crypto research and educational materials and already offers futures exposure to Bitcoin, Ether and Solana. Schwab said it may consider adding more assets over time, subject to regulatory and risk considerations.
