Coincheck Secures Japan's Electronic Payment Services Registration, Expands Into Stablecoins and On-Chain Finance
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Coincheck's registration as an electronic payment method provider makes it Japan's second licensed entity for stablecoin-related activities, improving regulatory clarity and distribution for fiat-pegged settlement rails. Building on its Circle partnership, Coincheck plans to expand USDC use cases and roll out stablecoin and on-chain financial services. This can support near-term demand for regulated stablecoin payment flows and deepen Japan's on-chain finance participation.

Japan-based crypto asset service provider Coincheck said it completed registration as an electronic payment method provider on Aug. 27, 2026, becoming the country's second firm to obtain the license required for stablecoin-related operations.
Coincheck said it will roll out stablecoin and on-chain financial services in stages, building on its existing partnership with U.S.-based Circle aimed at expanding USDC use cases in Japan.
The company added that stablecoins, typically pegged to fiat currencies, are designed to maintain price stability and can support 24/7 transfers and payments with faster settlement and lower costs.
