Huatai Finance cited HSBC's "Affluent Investor Snapshot 2026", a survey of nearly 10,000 high-net-worth investors worldwide. The report shows the average allocation to crypto assets in 2026 stands at 6%, down 1 percentage point from the prior year.
Despite the pullback, investor appetite remains firm: 45% of respondents said they plan to increase crypto exposure over the next 12 months, while 40% expect to keep allocations unchanged.
In Asia, investors in Singapore and Malaysia reported crypto allocations of 5% and 6%, respectively, both flat from a year earlier.
The survey also found cash holdings globally fell to 19%, as capital continued to rotate into equities, gold and alternative investments.
