Origin Protocol Submits B1 Token Transparency Report, Lifts the Lid on OGN Buybacks

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Origin Protocol's voluntary B1 Token Transparency Filing under Blockworks' TTF standardizes disclosures around governance, token economics, liquidity, and risks, increasing institutional accessibility (including Bloomberg Terminal distribution). The report highlights an aggressive, revenue-funded OGN buyback program with no offsetting emissions, alongside high xOGN lockup rates. Improved transparency plus credible revenue-accrual mechanics can strengthen investor confidence and near-term liquidity dynamics around OGN.

Origin Protocol has published a disclosure report that looks like crypto's answer to a traditional S-1 filing, offering a detailed snapshot of how the project is run and how its token economics work. The team submitted a B1 Token Transparency Filing under Blockworks' Token Transparency Framework (TTF), a voluntary standard built to give digital-asset projects an "open-book" style of visibility similar to what public-market investors expect in conventional securities. Announced on Aug. 18, the filing spans governance, token allocation, liquidity arrangements and risk factors, and it also spells out the design of Origin's OGN buyback program. At the center of that program is a simple rule: 100% of net protocol fees are used to purchase OGN in the open market. Fees generated across Origin's product suite—including OETH, OUSD, Super OETH and ARM vaults—flow into buybacks, and the acquired tokens are distributed to xOGN stakers. The model does not rely on fresh token emissions that would dilute supply. Origin says that since launching the buyback initiative in 2025, cumulative repurchases have surpassed 100 million OGN, equal to about 14.8% of total token supply removed from circulation via revenue-funded market purchases. In its first year, more than $3.5 million in protocol fees was deployed for buybacks. Monthly activity has remained consistent, with 4.8 million OGN bought in April 2026 and 4.6 million OGN in July 2026. For holders who lock OGN into xOGN, staking returns have tracked the buyback-driven distribution. Current staking APYs are roughly 10.5% to 14.6%, depending on lock duration, with yields sourced from protocol revenue rather than inflationary token printing. The report also outlines how the project moved away from emissions-driven incentives. Origin's DAO approved governance proposals in 2025 that transitioned the system from an emissions-based approach to a revenue-accrual framework. Today, about 47% of circulating OGN is locked as xOGN, indicating a sizable share of holders are opting for yield and governance participation instead of selling in the open market. Blockworks' TTF is positioned as an open-source disclosure template. Projects filing under the framework voluntarily publish standardized information on operations, token economics and risk factors, in a format modeled on public-company disclosures but without a regulatory requirement. Origin's B1 filing includes its corporate identity—the entity is incorporated in the Cayman Islands—governance structure, token allocation, liquidity management and a dedicated risk disclosure section. Distribution is also part of the pitch: B1 filings are reported to reach more than 350,000 Bloomberg Terminals, placing the information in front of institutional investors and analysts who may not follow protocol forums or project blogs. Origin develops self-custodial tokens and vaults designed to provide liquidity for redeemable assets, spanning yield-bearing stablecoins and liquid staking derivatives. The B1 filing is intended to give prospective allocators a standardized way to evaluate the project alongside others using the same framework.
