Varun Beverages, PepsiCo's largest bottler in India, said its consolidated net profit for the second quarter rose 15.5% year on year to 15.21 billion rupees, while revenue climbed 20.8% to 86.51 billion rupees.
Total volumes increased 19.8% over the period, led by a 38.4% surge in international volumes. The company said it has built inventory of key raw materials ahead of time and raised the share of low-sugar and sugar-free products to help offset input-cost pressure. Varun Beverages also recently renewed its exclusive bottling agreement for India for another 10 years.
The results point to resilient end-market demand for soft drinks, offering tangible support for upstream sugar raw-material demand.
