Arabica Jumps 5.24% as Brazil Rain Disrupts Harvest and Fuels Supply Concerns

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Coffee futures rose sharply on renewed supply-risk pricing as extreme rainfall in Brazil's Minas Gerais slows harvesting, with Cooxupe and national harvest progress lagging last year and the five-year average. Tightening arabica availability is reinforced by ICE arabica inventories at multi-year lows, despite higher robusta stocks. Vietnam's stronger exports and output outlook partially offset robusta concerns but do not negate near-term Brazil-driven disruption risk.

Global coffee prices surged, with September arabica coffee futures (KCU26) up 5.24% on the day and September robusta futures (RMU26) rising 2.76%. The rally was driven by extreme rainfall in Minas Gerais, Brazil’s largest coffee-growing state, where weekly precipitation reached 2700% of the historical average, delaying picking. Cooxupe members had harvested 47.3% as of July 17, 11.7 percentage points behind a year earlier, while Brazil’s 2026/27 harvest was 64%, below last year’s 77% and the five-year average of 70%. Vietnam’s exports for the same period rose 17.5% year on year to 1.58 MMT.
