ASIC warns private credit lenders to lift standards as investor redemption limits raise liquidity concerns

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
ASIC's push toward stricter governance, disclosure, and underwriting in Australian private credit highlights rising liquidity and credit-risk concerns, reinforced by Morgan Stanley again gating redemptions in its private credit fund. The scrutiny raises near-term uncertainty for nonbank lenders and credit fund managers, particularly those exposed to real estate and construction. Potential redemption limits and enforcement risk can tighten financial conditions and lift broader risk aversion across traditional markets.

Morgan Stanley again capped withdrawals at 5% on its nearly $US7 billion ($9.5 billion) private credit fund after investors sought to redeem 11.4% of shares, stoking concerns about liquidity risk.
