Argentina's Law 27.802 Allows Salaries in BTC, USDT and USDC

Argentina enacted Law 27.802 on March 6, allowing salaries and employment contracts to be paid or denominated in foreign currency, including BTC, USDT and USDC. The measure is accelerating local use of dollar-pegged stablecoins for wages, leases, savings, payments and remittances amid chronic inflation. Combined with contract freedom reforms introduced in 2023, the country is seeing rapid expansion of crypto-based and foreign currency arrangements in everyday economic activity in Latin America.
