Aave Teams Up With Lido to Contain $292M DeFi Shortfall Linked to KelpDAO Bug
Aave said it is working with Lido Finance, EtherFi and other partners to manage fallout from a $292 million funding gap in decentralized finance tied to a KelpDAO-related vulnerability.
According to the project, the exploit allowed an attacker to mint unauthorized rsETH tokens and use them to borrow Ethereum on Aave. The incident weakened collateral backing and triggered a wave of withdrawal demand.
Aave founder Stani Kulechov and other stakeholders have suggested using Ethereum to plug the shortfall.
