Hyperliquid Whale Suffers $25.83M BTC Liquidation, Reopens 40x Long at $92,600

A whale address on Hyperliquid faced multiple large liquidations on Jan. 19 after BTC briefly fell over 3.5%, with the biggest at $25.83 million and the largest single liquidation in the past 24 hours, HyperInsight and Coinglass data show. The address had built a 40x leveraged BTC long on Friday around $95,600, transferring ETH from on-chain to Hyperliquid and selling spot ETH while adding to the position, which reached 350 BTC worth about $33.46 million before being fully liquidated with cumulative losses near $1.1 million. Following the wipeout, the address moved about 169 ETH to the platform and sold it, then opened a new 40x BTC long sized at $38.70 million with an average entry near $92,600 and a liquidation level at $91,400, becoming Hyperliquid's third-largest BTC long holder.
