Polymarket Relaunches U.S. Platform in Beta After 2022 CFTC Settlement

Decentralized prediction market Polymarket has relaunched U.S. operations in beta mode, founder Shayne Coplan said at Cantor Fitzgerald's crypto conference on Nov. 13, Bloomberg reports. Selected users can now wager on real contracts as the platform enters its final phase before full U.S. reopening. The move follows Polymarket's 2022 settlement with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which forced the company offshore and resulted in a $1.4 million fine. In July 2025, Polymarket acquired licensed derivatives exchange and clearinghouse QCX, establishing a regulatory foundation for its return. The platform plans to introduce native token POLY following full U.S. relaunch, Chief Marketing Officer Matthew Modabber confirmed.
