Samourai Wallet Co-Founder Sentenced to Five Years for Money Laundering
Keonne Rodriguez, co-founder of cryptocurrency mixer Samourai Wallet, was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison by U.S. District Judge Denise Cote, Bloomberg reports. Rodriguez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business and received the maximum term for the charge. The case involved hundreds of millions of dollars linked to illicit darknet transactions and fraudulent schemes.
