Strategy adds $2.54 billion in Bitcoin, bringing holdings to 815,061 BTC
According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin treasury heavyweight Strategy has bought another 34,164 bitcoins for $2.54 billion, marking one of the largest single corporate crypto purchases on record. The Virginia-based business intelligence company made the purchases between April 13 and 19 at an average price of $74,395 per BTC.
To fund the buildout of its digital reserves, Strategy tapped its ongoing "at-the-market" (ATM) equity program. It sold about 21.8 million shares of Series A floating-rate perpetual deferred preferred stock for roughly $2.17 billion in net proceeds, and an additional 2.16 million shares of Class A common stock, raising $366 million net.
Following the latest buy, Strategy's Bitcoin stash stands at 815,061 BTC. The company has spent $61.56 billion in total to accumulate its holdings. Bitcoin (BTC) was last trading at $75,525.
