U.S. Forms Interagency Strike Force to Target Crypto-Enabled Pig Butchering Scams

The U.S. Treasury Department, alongside the Justice Department and other agencies, announced the formation of the Scam Center Strike Force on Nov. 13, CoinDesk reports. Led by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, the task force targets cross-border pig butchering fraud operations using cryptocurrency, focusing on networks in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines. U.S. authorities previously seized 127,271 BTC in enforcement actions against Cambodia's Prince Group.
