Vitalik: Ethereum Needs More High-Quality DAOs to Improve Token Governance

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin said on Jan. 19 the ecosystem needs more high-quality DAOs to address inefficiencies and capture risks in current token voting mechanisms as the network scales from base layer to applications, BlockBeats reports. He highlighted DAOs' critical role in oracles, on-chain dispute resolution, list maintenance, and project operations, introducing a distinction between "convex" and "concave" problems to guide decision-making design. Buterin added that achieving these goals requires solving privacy and decision fatigue, warning that without privacy protections, governance risks devolving into social gamesmanship.
