Whales Add Over 45,000 BTC This Week as Macro Conditions Improve
Large holders accumulated more than 45,000 BTC this week, the second-largest such accumulation in 2025, BRN Research Director Timothy Misir said. The purchases, worth approximately $4.6 billion at current prices, coincided with increased exchange withdrawals to cold storage, indicating institutional positioning rather than retail activity. Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded net outflows of about $278 million on Wednesday, while Ethereum spot ETFs saw outflows of around $184 million; Solana spot ETFs posted net inflows of $18.06 million. The U.S. government's reopening this week following a spending bill passage released roughly $40 billion in delayed liquidity, supporting what Misir described as "cautious optimism in risk sentiment amid an improving macro backdrop."
