X's Cashtags Racks Up Nearly $1B in Trading Volume Within 48 Hours

X's newly launched Cashtags feature has driven roughly $1 billion in trading volume over its first two days, Cointelegraph reported. Rolled out Tuesday, the tool lets users tag specific assets or contract addresses in posts; tapping a tag opens real-time price charts along with related posts. Cashtags is currently limited to iPhone users in the U.S. and Canada. Canada's online brokerage Wealthsimple has already integrated the feature, allowing users to jump directly to its trading platform. No U.S.-based broker integrations have been added so far. X is also building out its peer-to-peer payments product, X Money, which is expected to include yield-bearing accounts, cashback debit cards and other services. The company has secured money-transmission licenses in more than 40 U.S. states. The initiatives align with Elon Musk's push to turn X into a "super app."
