Zcash Founder Details Critical Orchard Bug; ZEC Slides More Than 30%

BlockBeats reports that on June 5, Zcash founder Zooko published an update outlining a critical forgery vulnerability affecting Orchard. Following the disclosure, ZEC fell more than 30% and was last quoted at $431.64. According to Zooko, security researcher Taylor Hornby identified the issue in the Zcash Orchard pool on May 29 and reported it to the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL). ZODL then coordinated an ecosystem-wide emergency response, with a fix completed on June 2.
