Aster Perps DEX Slashes Monthly ASTER Unlocks 97% in Tokenomics Update

Aster said it has reduced monthly ASTER token unlocks by 97%, shifting ecosystem releases to staking rewards only. The protocol previously unlocked 78.4 million ASTER per month, but now targets about 1.8 million–2.25 million monthly via 450,000 ASTER per weekly epoch. Aster also reported a post-burn total supply of 7,922,139,508 ASTER and said insider unlocks remain paused until September 2026.
