Global mergers and acquisitions rose nearly 50% in 2025 to about $4.5 trillion, according to the London Stock Exchange Group. A record 68 transactions valued at $10 billion or more helped lift investment banking fees to around $135 billion. Deals involving U.S. companies totaled $2.3 trillion, the largest share since 1998.
