Balancer Launches White Hat Recovery, Secures $4.1M in Controlled Custody

Balancer launched a white hat recovery operation following an incident affecting its V2 stablecoin pools, transferring approximately $4.1 million to controlled custody accounts for reconciliation and return, the protocol announced on Nov. 13. The recovery effort applies exclusively to Balancer V2 meta stable pools, while Balancer V3 remains unaffected. The protocol advised users to avoid interactions with listed pools and stay vigilant against phishing attempts until the reconciliation process concludes. Earlier reports indicated the attack resulted in losses of approximately $116.6 million across multiple chains, involving assets including WETH, Staked ETH, and wstETH.
