Cash App to Support Stablecoin Transfers and Bitcoin Merchant Payments in Early 2025

Block's payment platform Cash App will support stablecoin sending and receiving in early 2025, a company spokesperson said. Each user will receive a blockchain address linked to their account, though specific stablecoins and supported blockchains were not disclosed. Cash App will also enable users to pay merchants with Bitcoin by scanning QR codes, with the platform automatically converting cash to Bitcoin for transactions without requiring users to hold Bitcoin balances.
