Bitwise CIO expects solid but unspectacular Bitcoin gains over coming decade

Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan told CNBC that Bitcoin is likely to deliver strong but not extraordinary returns with lower volatility over the next 10 years, while he still expects 2026 to be a positive year. He attributed Bitcoin's year-end pullback and roughly 30% decline from its October all-time high of about $125,000 partly to a fast-moving retail crowd taking profits, while slow institutional accumulation may be cushioning deeper drawdowns.
