BNB Smart Chain's Fermi hard fork set for Jan. 14 mainnet launch to cut block times

BNB Smart Chain's Fermi hard fork is scheduled to activate on the mainnet on Jan. 14 after running on testnet since November, aiming to reduce block intervals from 750 milliseconds to 250 milliseconds. The upgrade adds new voting parameters, an indexing mechanism for partial ledger data and is designed to support time-sensitive applications by increasing throughput and efficiency.
