Bolivia Pilots Solana Blockchain for Presidential Election Ballot Tokenization

Bolivia completed a pilot program using Solana blockchain technology to tokenize photographed paper ballot counts during its presidential election in October. The TuVotoSeguro initiative recorded vote tallies on a public ledger in NFT format, enabling independent verification of official counts. The system targeted vulnerabilities identified in Bolivia's contested 2019 election, when allegations emerged regarding alterations to vote tallies during transport from polling stations to central counting facilities.
