Morpho’s outstanding loans climbed to a record $5 billion on Sept. 1, according to crypto analytics firm Messari. The milestone brings the decentralized lending protocol closer in scale to longtime market leader Aave. It also lifts Morpho’s visibility among fintechs and stablecoin issuers that route credit through the protocol.

Linea said its Yield Boost program is entering a new phase, gradually increasing the share of funds allocated to ETH staking from 10% toward 60%. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor has sent a formal letter to MSCI opposing a proposed rule revision that could lead to his company being removed from key indexes. MSCI is considering reclassifying companies that hold alternative assets such as bitcoin as financial stocks, a change that could see Strategy excluded given its $23.93 billion float-adjusted market capitalization—about 87% of the affected pool. JPMorgan estimates the move could trigger about $2.8 billion in passive-fund outflows. The consultation runs through Sept. 30, with a final decision expected around Oct. 16, covering six companies including Strategy.

Binance said it has launched Stock Options, enabling physically settled options trading on U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs from a single account. The initial rollout supports limit orders only, with trading funded via a Funding Account, Spot Account and/or Flexible Earn using USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB. Trading hours are 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET for most contracts, while certain ETF and ETN options may trade until 4:15 PM ET. The feature is being introduced in Phase 1 as part of a broader push to expand the platform’s product lineup.

North Korean hackers have laundered more than $30 million worth of Bitcoin through decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid over the past three weeks, Arkham data show. The activity comes as U.S. President Donald Trump and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) seek to bring the offshore venue within a U.S. regulatory framework. The timing has fueled market concerns about the platform’s compliance and security.

Evernorth XRP has cleared an SEC review, moving closer to a Nasdaq listing. Backed by Ripple, Pantera Capital, Kraken and SBI Group, the company plans to take its actively managed XRP treasury strategy to public markets under the $XRPN ticker. The next milestone is a shareholder vote scheduled for Sept. 30. If approved, the move would offer traditional investors a regulated way to gain exposure to XRP.

TectonicFi suffered an exploit on the Cronos chain, with losses estimated at about $74 million. The attacker managed to bridge roughly $6 million to Ethereum before the chain was paused, according to PeckShield. About $60 million remains stuck on Cronos.
