Sui Activates Native Stablecoin USDsui on Mainnet as SUI Trades Near $0.97
The Sui blockchain activated its native stablecoin USDsui on mainnet, with the asset issued by Bridge, a Stripe company, via its Open Issuance platform. SUI changed hands near $0.97 with a $3.78 billion market capitalization after gaining more than 6% in 24 hours. USDsui, first introduced in late 2025, is now live across Sui applications including Turbos, Cetus, Bluefin, NAVI, Scallop, and Suilend, with Bridge stating it was built using enterprise-grade controls and compliance-ready systems designed for predictable costs and fast settlement. Mysten Labs said USDsui is backed by bonds and liquid reserves that generate yield, with part of this income able to flow back into the Sui ecosystem to potentially repurchase SUI tokens or bolster decentralized finance liquidity, while the Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs hold existing stablecoins that may migrate into USDsui.
