Ledger Confirms Tampered CryptoBilis Devices; Hidden Chip Read 24-Word Recovery Phrase

Crypto hardware wallet maker Ledger has confirmed a supply-chain attack in which spy chips were found inside devices sold through the reseller CryptoBilis. In that case, users were robbed at the moment they set up brand-new devices. On-chain analysis estimates that $86 million to $102 million flowed out of affected wallets across six blockchains. Those chains are Tron, Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon and Solana, and no official total loss figure has been confirmed.
