Gold, silver futures trade higher as Fed rate-hike concerns ease

Gold and silver futures rose in early trade on Monday, buoyed by firm global cues and easing concerns over Federal Reserve rate hikes. Indian gold futures were up 0.13 per cent at an intraday low of Rs 148,120. Remarks by Fed officials pushed the implied probability of an October rate increase below 20 per cent, while strong producer price data kept December hike expectations alive. COMEX gold recovered above $4,200 and silver climbed to near $57.80, with both outpacing gold.
