ZachXBT calls UK HTX sanctions "overreach" after May 26, 2026 designation

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT said the UK's sanctions tied to HTX are excessive, arguing that compliance "address tainting" is spilling over to regular users whose wallets once interacted with the exchange. After the UK designated Huobi Global S.A. on May 26, 2026, some users reported frozen funds and extra checks at other platforms, while HTX later delisted WLFI's USD1 on June 7 and converted balances to USDT at a 1:1 ratio.
