Zcash says Orchard vulnerability is fixed after $624-to-$309 ZEC drop

Zcash completed a two-stage emergency upgrade to patch a critical flaw in its Orchard shielded pool, after a vulnerability that had existed for four years triggered a sharp market reaction. ZEC fell about 50% from a June 4 high of $624 to $309 on June 5, with more than $3 billion in market cap erased, before recovering as the fix was confirmed.
