Ripple joins Mastercard's AI payments pilot using XRPL and RLUSD, while XRP remains absent

Mastercard has launched its Agent Pay for Machines program for autonomous AI-to-AI settlements, with Ripple participating through the XRP Ledger and the regulated stablecoin RLUSD. The pilot documentation does not reference XRP, but RippleX says its XRPL AI Starter Kit enables agent-to-agent payments using XRP and RLUSD, including automatic DEX conversion to XRP in 3–5 seconds.
