French 10-Year Bond Yield Rises 7 Basis Points as CAC 40 Falls Nearly 1%

French assets came under pressure Monday as social unrest and rising national debt weighed on markets. The 10-year government bond yield rose 7 basis points, staying near multi-decade highs, while the CAC 40 fell nearly 1%. The OAT-Bund spread reached its highest since the early 2010s. Foreign investors now hold nearly 60% of French debt, up from about 48% in early 2022.
